Who’s behind Heavenly Rice?

See Hoy Chan, the leading distributor of Heavenly Rice and other premium Thai fragrant rice, started out as an egg business in Central Market, Kuala Lumpur. In the decade following WWII, the  founder, Teo Soo Chuan, supplied eggs to army camps and hotels. The 1950s saw the company starting to trade in rubber, copra, maize and pulses. Soon after, the Singapore branch was opened in Cecil Street and began dealing in other commodities, such as, sugar, animal feed, and rice. For over half a century, See Hoy Chan (1988) Pte Ltd has brought quality, value, innovation, and excellence in service to consumers of rice.

In January 2003, See Hoy Chan launched the Heavenly Grade A Thai Home Mali Rice. Shortly after, the range expanded to include Heavenly Brown Rice and Heavenly New Crop Rice.
